Packaging Design Engineer- Ridgefield Park, NJ

Job Description:

Korean beauty cosmetics manufacturer seeks innovative packaging design engineer to:

  • Test, review, and approve test reports

  • Present findings, designs and recommendations on key projects and initiatives

  • Recommends solutions to design and engineering challenges including project scope

  • Understand and request decoration components

  • Establish realistic timelines for new product launches

  • Interact with clear communication throughout development process with Customer, Sales, Lab, Plant, Quality and other departments

  • Work closely with customer’s Package Engineer, holding customer project meetings

  • Research new materials, laminates, components, etc.

  • Identify new and improved processes for simplified steps and/or time reductions

  • Compile all project documentation

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks

  • Computer skills – MS office, AutoCAD, Solid Works, ArtiosCAD

  • Bonus: Cosmetic packaging experience or similar industry knowledge preferred

Experience Required:

5+ years of related experience

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in related fields such as Engineering, preferably in Package Development, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Design in Packaging.

Physical Requirements:

  • Plant positions: Prolonged standing and ability to walk throughout the plant regularly, bending, lifting, repetitive motion, ability to operate various work equipment required in the job, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, ability to respond to safety signals

  • Office positions: Prolonged sitting with ability to walk through plant as needed, ability to operate standard office equipment, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, ability to respond to safety signals

  • Lab positions: Prolonged standing with ability to walk through facilities as needed, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, ability to operate lab equipment, ability to respond to safety signals

  • All Positions: Proficiency in the reading, writing and speaking of the English language.
