Field Training Coordinator- Deerfield, IL

Job Summary:

The Field Trainer Coordinator will be responsible for building, developing, and maintaining national accounts that utilize Pregis retail packaging systems. This position will work closely with internal and external customers to support and build the company’s products within retail businesses. The preferred location is the Chicagoland area although it is not a requirement.

Job Functions:

  • Responsible for account management of assigned National Accounts

  • Build and develop relationships at multiple levels and functions at both end users and distributors

  • Attend end user regional network meetings demonstrating packaging techniques, machine care and best practices

  • Work with packaging engineers (end users) on product/material testing for development of applications driven best practices

  • Maintain working relationships with distributor management and sales reps

  • Develop new accounts and applications

  • Maintain reports associated with the position

  • Interface effectively with Pregis marketing, engineering and support personnel

  • Provide off hour/weekend phone coverage of Help Desk (as needed)

  • Periodic support in servicing equipment

  • Execute other responsibilities as assigned 

Workforce Responsibility:

  • Reports to: Director of Retail Sales

  • Will occasionally work with Ecommerce Solutions team, Director of Parcel Packaging Solutions, and marketing/sales teams

Job Requirements:

  • Education / Experience: Minimum level of education and experience required

    • University degree or college diploma, package engineering or business preferred.

    • Minimum 2 years of protective packaging experience, field or classroom

  • Skills & Training: Specific skills, training or certifications needed to perform the position.

    • Results oriented, highly motivated to perform with minimal direct management

    • High degree of personal and professional ethical standards

    • Excellent communication skills – written and oral

    • Organized, effective time management skills

    • Working knowledge of Pregis products, applications and manufacturing capabilities

    • Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic machine repairs

    • Occasional heavy lifting required

    • Travel requirements (60%) – National reach

    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
